Healthy kamut flour muffin recipe anyone? Today I whipped up some Chocolate chip kamut flour muffins. If you are not a fan of chocolate you could swap them out for some frozen or fresh blueberries. This recipe is my go to because is it quick and easy. No need to separate wet ingredients and dry ingredients. I just dump it all in a large mixing bowl and get it in the muffin tin. Healthy muffins are my go to choice for breakfast or snack. I love a nice warm muffin with melted butter, cup of tea and a good book.

The Joy of Kamut Muffins

If you’re a mom like me and need healthier options for your picky kiddos. Kamut flour is for you. Khorasan wheat is an ancient grain packed full of health benefits. It is so easy to swap in some kamut flour with your all purpose flour. \I grind my own whole grains in a Nutrimill grain mill. This means I can grind anything at home from kamut flour to my own oat flour. Also I love Khorasan because it has a yummy buttery flavor. Of all my kamut recipes, my kids go crazy for muffins.

I try to keep my muffins on hand for quick and easy snacks or breakfasts. They are the perfect grab and go food.

Swap and rade different ingredients!

This Kamut flour muffin recipe is very forgiving. If you do not have kamut on hand you can swap it for any whole wheat flour you have. It works with white flour too. Trade the eggs for duck eggs. You can swap the oil for coconut, extra virgin olive oil, or unsalted butter. You can also trade out the sour cream for full fat Greek yogurt. This recipe of mine that pumps out 24 muffins every time even when I swap and trade ingredients.

Batter for recipe

For this recipe you will need

  • 4 Cups of Kamut flour
  • 2 Cups of brown sugar
  • 1 tsp of baking soda.
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 cup of oil (I used canola oil)
  • 2 Cups of sour cream (Greek yogurt works too!)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups of Chocolate chips (or blueberries)

Like I mentioned up above this recipe is quick and easy in your large bowl you can your flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, oil, and sourcream. let it mix together until combined. Before adding in the remaining ingredients. In a separate bowl crack your eggs and whisk them up. Dump your small bowl of eggs into you mix and then add in vanilla. Last you can add your chocolate chips or blueberries.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees f

to prepare your muffin tin by adding in cupcake liners to save on clean up and scoop in your batter until all 24 are filled

put your trays into your preheated oven and bake for 23 minutes.

Kamut Flour Muffin Recipe

Delicious healthy muffins made with Khorasan/Kamut flour
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 23 minutes

  • 4 cups Kamut Flour
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Oil
  • 2 cups Sour cream
  • 4 lg Eggs (whisked)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1.5 cups Chocolate chips


  • Preheat oven for 400 degrees
  • Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sour cream, oil
  • Whisk eggs in separate bowl
  • Mix in eggs
  • Mix in vanilla
  • Add Chocolate chips
  • Mix until combined
  • Line muffin tin with liners
  • Bake at 400 for 23 mins
